There’s a pervasive money belief that convinces people that they don’t need to be financially fit.
It’s disseminated indirectly in the ads you’re inundated with every day from gurus with an all too familiar pitch: they can show you how to make a gazillion dollars and live the life of your dreams.
Just make more money and you’ll have so much money that you’ll never have to worry about that pesky money management stuff.
That’s not just wishful thinking – it’s dangerous.
The truth is not popular.
Some are still ignorant as to how important money management is. There are people who believe with all their heart that all you need to do is make “enough” money and you will never have to worry about money. What they have yet to discover is that what you do with your money is far more important than how much you make. These are the people who are in financial straits and are constantly looking for the latest and greatest way to make money; they never stop to think and take better care of the money they already earn.
Others have insidious motives for keeping the truth under wraps. Marketers would prefer for you to believe this dangerous assumption. They rely on your belief that “more money is the answer” because it’s easier to sell you on their products and services. If you knew how powerful financial fitness was, you wouldn’t be so desperate to buy what they are selling.
But before you think that I’m against making more money, watch this video.

In this video, I’m covering the most dangerous money mindset, and here it is, you can outearn your bad money habits. The thinking goes, and I even hear it from some really respected leaders in the financial space, that there’s a limit to how much spending you can cut, but there is no limit to how much you can make. Sure, this is technically true, but it’s a dangerous way to live if that convinces you that you don’t need to be financially fit. Think of all the people who have earned massive amounts of money and then lost it all, so many people. Despite having a plethora of examples of how people lose a lot of money, we somehow think it wouldn’t happen to us if we ever came into that kind of money. Hate to break it to you though, statistically speaking, you’d probably suffer the same fate if you were not already skilled in managing money.
You can earn and earn and earn and still end up like most people who live paycheck to paycheck or rack up credit card debt. You’ll earn more than spend more and then work harder to earn more only to find that you spend more and end up back at square one. This is why you have to know that financial fitness matters way more than making loads of money. But if you let yourself become convinced that you don’t need to be good with money, you just need to figure out how to make more of it, you’re setting yourself up for misery. I would say, I hate to break it to you, but actually this is great news. Financial fitness is absolutely necessary. If you want to live comfortably or even be rich sustainably for the long term then you can’t avoid it. But, honestly, when you get the hang of it, financial fitness done right is incredibly satisfying.
Most people avoid it like the plague and it’s easy to do that though in a world where there are a gazillion gurus a day promising to help you make more and more money. It’s easy to fall for the trap thinking that all you need to do is earn more money and then you’ll be rid of your financial stress and anxiety. It’s just not so. Look, I’m not saying that making more money is bad or wrong. I’m saying that if you don’t also get your financial ish together, you’re being suckered into a life that helps make a lot of money for other people at the expense of your quality of life. Financial fitness first and then, if you want, you can make more money. I’m not kidding that financial fitness can make you much happier no matter what your income. I invite you to like this video, subscribe to my channel, and come on a financial fitness journey to see for yourself. See you soon.
